Hey lovely,

Jasmine here, back with your Wellness Dose.

I'm not going to lie, I'm writing this issue with what feels like a major sugar hangover - likely caused by the fact that Luke and I decided to make cinnamon buns on Saturday, which I then proceeded to devour. Glorious. Until you have perhaps the hottest night's sleep known to man (not in a sexy way) and wake up feeling like you've been run over, despite being in bed before midnight.

Alas, I have a range of tools I reach for in this exact situation - when I need my brain to work when it would much, much rather not:

& REMEMBERING THIS - IT’S REALLY NOT THAT SERIOUS

  1. Creatine & electrolytes - I've been enjoying this Rise sachet, or I'll add some unflavoured creatine and clean electrolytes to water and neck it. Studies suggest that creatine, specifically for healthy women, is most beneficial for a brain-boost when you're under stress or energy-depleted. The electrolytes also help to get things firing if you’re depleted.

  2. Silent walk in the AM - It's the last thing I want to do in this situation, but getting some sunlight and a moment with my thoughts resets my state and anchors my circadian clock.

  3. Vagus nerve stimulator - I tend to use this on the energy setting most these days (progress, given it used to be entirely on the stress setting..).

  4. Breathwork - I'll admit I haven't been as consistent recently, but the quick up-regulating sessions on Othership are super handy for a reset.

  5. Caffeine - I feel like the wellness industry silently judges anyone who has more than one cup a day, and whilst I usually aim for that since it's where I feel my best, some days call for an extra cup or two - and today is one of them. I just try not to have it too late (past 2-3pm), but everyone's different.

  6. Cognizin - Studies show this helps with focus and memory, but my study of one also finds it messes with my sleep, so I only pull this out if it's looking like a major uphill battle ahead. This also has some other brain-boosting ingredients in there too.

  7. Eye patches - A tale as old as time, nothing beats something cooling under tired eyes. I've been using these for a while now and whilst they don't work miracles (do any?), they do depuff and make you look a little more alive.

  8. Deep work music - Usually whatever YouTube serves up, today it was this.

I'd love to know your favourite hacks for bringing you back to life when you need to be on your A-game - hit reply and let me know!

Thanks as always for being here and for your support. 🤍

HOT

  • Europe's it-girls have known about this Glass Glow Mist for a while, and now it's finally available in the UK. Infused with calming CBD to refresh and glow on-the-go, it’s a gym bag essential. Get 30% off until June 30th. (Blank&)

  • Sydney who? London just got its first (floating) Olympic-sized natural open water swimming pool - and no, it's thankfully not Thames water. It sits at a chilly 15-ish degrees currently, perfect for getting some laps in after a hot sunny day. (Sea Lanes)

  • Event: Sunday Club x The Arding Rooms - Enjoy exclusive access to Clapham Junction's luxe private members club for an afternoon of yoga, post-workout shakes, chat with functional medicine practitioner The Bexology Method and leave with gifting from Trinny London. (Eventbrite)

HEALTHY

  • Can a diffuser that tracks your biometrics and releases timely, personalised "scent therapy" actually help you sleep deeper? This brand thinks so, with their AI-powered bedside device launching in January. Editor's note: the studies on scent and sleep are interesting, but at $299 for six months of scent, it would need to work incredibly well. We'll report back post-launch. (Kimba).

  • A banana bread recipe to cure your soul (Well Fed & Wandering)

  • Clair hit the headlines last week for raising $11.5m for their continuous hormone-tracking wrist wearable that estimates levels of estrogen, progesterone, LH and FSH without a blood draw or urine test. There’s plenty of skeptics on whether it’s actually possible, but the start-up - founded by two Stanford graduates - is set to launch an independent clinical trial later this year to prove it can indeed live up to the hype. (Clair)

  • Midjourney, the AI text-to-image app, just announced the pivot of the century: a spa. Specifically, one offering "MRI-like" diagnostic imaging in just 60 seconds, with no radiation. It sure beats an uncomfortable MRI or the UFO-like vibes at Neko, but the jury's out as to whether it’s actually possible.. (Instagram)

WEALTHY

  • This is the tried and tested playbook to get your first 100 customers. (My First Million x HubSpot)

  • The way you spend your evenings is the way you spend your life. Here’s 50 things to do after work that don’t include scrolling or watching Netflix. (Sunlight and Sleep).

  • Is the era of performative brand dinners coming to an end? This creator thinks so. We're praying the same goes for the designed-to-be-captured-rather-than-felt wellness events too. (Instagram)

How to get clear on your next chapter

Life Coach to the likes of Rochelle Humes and many other incredibly successful women (& men) - when Dior Bediako speaks, we listen. Her method focuses on designing your future self, simplifying your business (and/or life!) to what’s working, and repeatedly taking the essential actions to get transformative results.

She’s got a waitlist of people wanting to work with her 1:1, as well as a monthly membership for entrepreneurs that helps them to build themselves and their business. And today, we’re getting into all of it. Keep reading for some Monday inspiration to seriously level things up and take the next steps towards building your dream life.

Dior, what do you say to someone doing all the work but still not seeing results?

There's a bottleneck. We focus so much on what's not working that we miss what is. The method that gives you the big result is the one already giving you one small result, done more intentionally. For me, every time I did a talk, even just hosting, someone would enquire about my coaching afterwards. I didn't need to do a million things - I just needed to keep getting booked for talks. If someone says nothing is working & they're still trying, they're actually the most optimistic person in the world. There's always something working.

And dealing with all the no’s along the way?

Any time you want to change your circumstance, it comes with loss. Expecting to grow & not lose anything along the way isn’t possible. What we actually need to address is the scarcity we place on each no - the feeling that one lost opportunity means it’s all ruined. Once you solve scarcity, you stop being afraid of losing, not just money, anything.

How do we work on scarcity?

Try to trace it back - where does it come from for you? For me it was always money. Write down what plays in your head when you think about scarcity, then dig into it: why do you think that, how far back does it go, how is it serving you, how is it hindering you. All our negative thoughts serve us - they keep us comfortable being a smaller version of ourselves. It's real work, but it’s like a tree surgeon pulling up roots. It takes time. Be patient with it. And then take action. Instead of spending an hour worrying about whether you'll ever get a brand deal or the next client, spend that hour asking - how do I ensure I get one every month? How did I land the last ten, can I replicate that more intentionally? You go from worrying to expanding.

Let’s get into your Future Self Method. Where do we start?

Start listing what you want. People stress because they feel they have to get it perfect the first time - it's your future, design it & have fun with it. Brain dump everything you want, no questioning if it's big enough. My workbook takes you through it step-by-step.

Do you find your clients come to you with similar blocks?

Two come up a lot in women. One is not realising how good they are - it's so scary how blind you can be to your own brilliance. When you don't recognise your value, you can't package it & sell it, so you stay stuck. The other is shame. So many women carry shame, & it doesn't have to be deeply traumatic - it could just be that you’re not making the money you want. Shame loves the dark. The tiniest piece of light on it kills it though. You don't need to shout it from a rooftop, just tell one friend & it breaks straight away.

Do you get clients to journal on their future self?

I love scripting, where you write about your future self as if you're her right now, a day in her life, present tense. The feeling becomes visceral. I used to do it every Wednesday. Do it as much as you need - once a week is the minimum I'd commit to.

What advice would you give someone who still doesn't know what they want to do, even mid-career?

How do you know it's not right? What's indicating that to you? You might find it's about freedom, flexibility, not wanting to be in an office. We’ll build from there. Or I'll ask straight: if you did know, what would it be? Sometimes removing the option of 'I don't know' creates an answer - even if it's not the final one, it points you somewhere.

If you could leave our readers with one thought to sit with, what would it be?

None of us want to get out what we put in - we want more. And the way to have more is to become the version of yourself who already has it, and act like her, every single day.

See you next Monday!
