In the last Wellness Dose, I shared the first half of my wellness predictions for 2025 (if you missed that, it’s worth starting there first). As promised, this week, I’m back to finish them off with my final 3.

2025 Wellness Predictions

We’re going clean, back to our roots & au naturel

★ #4: Toxic-Free, Everything

In 2025, we're all feeling the weight of toxins in our daily lives – from water and clothes to cleaning products, perfumes, cookware, and sunscreen. It’s hard to know where to start, but we know we probably should.

Phthalates (found in perfumes, nail polishes, and hair products) are being called out for links to health issues like insulin resistance, cardiovascular disease, and even hyperactivity in kids. And without getting too bleak on a Monday, our increasing exposure to environmental toxins isn’t helping fertility rates. As for Teflon pans, we’ll let you Google that (just in case you’re using one tonight).

The "toxic-free everything" movement is the next chapter of wellness. A self-care day loses its appeal when your bath water is filled with, well, who-knows-what. We’re betting/hoping 2025 brings an affordable service to market that helps us swap out your toxic items for safer alternatives, ideally with a monthly top-up to keep our home, body & life clean (preferably without needing a second mortgage).

WATCH OUT FOR: Clean-washing - if it seems too good to be true, it might be. Make sure to check the ingredients (or run them through ChatGPT).

It’s a lot for a Monday, I know

★ #5: Skin Biohacking

Forget quick fixes – in 2025, it's all about regenerating from within. Instead of filling wrinkles, we’re focused on restoring and rejuvenating. Surgeons are seeing a surge in demand for fat grafting, exosomes, and collagen biostimulators, as more of us opt for longer-lasting, natural results. The “undetectable era” is officially here (one glance at Lindsay Lohan’s recent transformation reminds you of as much).

2024 may have been the year of the biohacker, but in 2025, skin longevity is the new buzzword. Brands like One Skin are leading the charge with their OS-01 peptide, claiming to reduce skin’s biological age (though Reddit reviews are... mixed). Searches for “skin longevity” have doubled in the last 6 months, and it’s not just about topicals either – LED masks coming along for the ride too. We’re expecting a new, “longevity-branded” mask will hit the market this year (probably by Bryan Johnson himself, tbh), even if it’s practically the same as the one already in our bathroom. Stem-cell-infused lines are also on the rise, but it’s harder than ever to figure out if the £250 stem-cell serum is really worth the investment over a £15 one. More on that later this month..

WATCH OUT FOR: Brands preaching “skin longevity” without the clinical backing to support it (and still charging you a premium).

#6: The Return to Whole

2025 is all about the real food revival – full-fat butter, beef tallow, and raw milk are making a major comeback as we move away from processed alternatives. Seed oils are being villainised (despite limited studies to back it up), and the plant-based diet is on the decline (did Veganuary even happen this year?).

Many are turning back to "ancestral" diets instead, and sales are reflecting the shift: full-fat milk and yogurt searches surged by 417% and 233% on Waitrose's website, and M&S now defaults to whole milk in their cafés (adios, oat milk!).

Expect to see local cafés offering raw milk lattes this year, and ways to up the fat content with add-ons like MCT oil or even tallow.

WATCH OUT FOR: Just because it’s full-fat doesn’t mean it’s automatically healthy, context is key – for those with high cholesterol, it’s best to tread carefully.

  • 💊 The fertility supplement boom: With more of us putting off starting a family (the average age is now nearly 31 years old), fertility support is a hot topic. So hot, in fact, that Frida (the brand behind those at-home insemination kits - yes, that’s a thing) saw a huge 300% sales spike for their new fertility supplement line in 2024. It’s a high-stakes, high-stress territory though, and brands need to tread very carefully (or else they’ll have us to answer to!). There’s no magic pill, so they shouldn’t make us believe there is. Stick to supplements with ingredients backed by fertility studies, like folic acid, CoQ10, DHEA, NAC, and Myo-inositol. And if you’re starting your fertility journey, a Hertility check is always a solid first step.

  • 💄 New beauty drops worth knowing:

    • Vieve just blessed us with 4 new launches (did Jamie Genevieve sleep at all over Christmas?!). The new Bounce Balm is on our “need to try immediately” list – a peptide lip treatment-meets-glass-gloss that boosts lip volume by 45%, thanks to some serious hydration.

    • Rare Beauty dropped their 5th product in the Soft Pinch lineup – the Liquid Contour, a cool-toned contour that promises easy application (dot, blend, done).

    • Rhode’s also in the mix with their new Peptide Lip Shape (which, we’ll be honest, looks pretty similar to Refy’s Blur Liner..).

    • Over in the hair care aisle, Gisou’s Honey Glass Ceramide Mask just hit the shelves, and the packaging? It’s giving grown-up Winnie the Pooh energy.

    • Last but not least, for those who celebrate it, we’re swooning over Diptyque’s Limited Edition Valentines launch - a berries and roses combo that demands a dedicated self-care day this month.

  • 👏 Consider us sold: Was I in the market for a new gym bag? Nope. Did I want one after watching this? 100%. It’s a marketing masterclass on how to launch a product - and a reminder of why we need more female founders in the world, tbh.

  • 😴 Get bored: How many times have you said you’re “busy” this week, only to check your screen time and see you’ve racked up 6-10 hours a day? Apparently, one of the reasons we all feel so swamped is because we never give ourselves enough time to just... be bored. And why’s that? Because the second there’s a moment of peace, you bet we’re reaching for our phone. Per Kate Lindsay, “by refusing to ever let your brain rest, you’re choosing to watch other people’s lives through a screen instead of living your own.” Ouch - noted.

  • Fitbit’s $12M tea: After reports in 2018 that their smartwatches were overheating and could cause burns, any guesses what Fitbit did? Nothing. Nada. Three years later, they finally issued a recall. Now, they’re paying $12.25M in a civil penalty for dragging their feet (or wrists?).

  • 🙄 Not again: We’re all for brands like Arrae doing their bit to make creatine sexy, but there’s just one teeny-tiny thing they’re missing in their marketing of the new Tone supplement – creatine only helps you get toned if you, you know, actually train. And let’s not forget, diet plays a huge part in changing your body composition too. Side note, we can’t be the only ones who feel like Arrae and Lemme have the same freelancer working on their respective “tone” supplements?!

  • 💸 News to us: Did we miss the memo that Kimmy K launched her own private-equity firm? Turns out, she’s invested in 111Skin to help fuel their North America expansion. In an interview, she said she’s not here to be a “typical” equity investor - she wants to help founders tell their story and carve out a niche.

For our latest Insider feature we’re opening the floor to Dani Nicholls. Once a corporate girly, now a full-time beauty content creator, her path to where she is today was anything but conventional (read on for more on that!). We asked her for advice for those of us thinking of taking a similar leap, and of course, ALL of her go-to products, places and rituals she’s loving right now. Let’s get into it.

Dani, let’s start at the beginning - how did you go from full-time corporate marketing to content creation and consulting? Was it scary making the leap?

I’m thrilled to be here, thanks for having me! My path wasn’t linear - I’ve always been a “trust the process” type of person. I’d been itching to escape the corporate life for a while. I invested in becoming a Pilates instructor, I also went to beauty school, and juggled it all alongside my full-time job and consulting gigs before the pandemic forced me to rethink everything. When layoffs hit, I took redundancy, packed up my flat, and pursued a PGCE (teaching qualification) in Computer Science up north.

While teaching, I noticed my students were obsessed with TikTok, so I downloaded it to see if I could make my lessons more “cool” and like everyone, quickly got hooked! I saw so much beauty content (and misinformation) and figured, why not share my own content? I had nothing to lose and zero expectations, but here we are!

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned along the way? Any advice for someone thinking about leaving corporate to pursue their passion?

Save as much as you can! The transition from a steady salary to self-employment is a major shift. Learn the business side - taxes are real, so find an accountant who understands your business model.

Also, don’t be afraid to pivot. No one is watching you as closely as you think. If you need to tweak your strategy or messaging, just do it - no one really cares as much as you do!

Your annual chemical peel videos on TikTok are iconic - they always go viral (your skin is glowing, btw). Who do you trust with your peels, and what’s your go-to?

I swear by The Perfect Peel, Original Blend. It’s safe for all skin types and only offered by medical professionals, so you know you’re in good hands. I go to Rupesh at London Lip Clinic - he’s the best.

You’ve said yourself you’ve been on quite the skin journey. What are your current go-to skincare products and treatments (aside from peels)?
