Plus a dreamy Yorkshire Spa staycation, Editors wellness favourites & much more
One thing I learned last week? You ladies LOVE a wellness gift. The response to the referral rewards programme since it launched last week has been incredible. The fact that so many of you want to share Daily Rituals with your girlās group chat or with your work bestie, honestly, it makes me so happy.
Iāve loooved sending your gifts out to you all this week. Some of you have already bagged yourself the ESPA Discovery Set after bringing 30 (yes 30!) women into the Daily Rituals community.
I started Daily Rituals a few months ago after feeling pretty lost at my corporate 9-5. It was my way of a way to infusing my day-to-day with abit more passion & purpose (the usual). My goal, to be totally honest, is to make Daily Rituals my new 9-5. And the crazy thing is, if we keep growing like we are currently, that may actually be possible.
So thank you again for your support on this very new journey. & if you havenāt yet told your wellness-loving friends about Daily Rituals yet, just use the referral link at the bottom of the email to start earning your gifts.

LETāS TALK HUMAN DESIGN
Turn up the woo woo
Iām not your average goop girly thatās into her star signs or full moon meditations. Sure, Iām all for a new wellness trend but Iām also well aware that thereās SO much BS out there (cough: skinny tea, waist trainers, the list goes on). But since itās kind of my job to dive into this stuff with an open mind (and then declare if itās utter BS or not), I did exactly that.
What is it?
When I first came across Human Design, I wasnāt sold.
Itās the latest wellness-meets-astrology craze going viral online, with celebrity fans including everyone from pilates queen Bryony Deery to Gwenyth Paltrow herself (absolutely no surprises there). Like astrology, it takes your birth date, time and place to reveal your human design profile.
Itās part-spiritual, part-scientific (ish) way of ācalculatingā who you came here to be. The idea is that your energy and aura were locked-in at birth. & by decoding this, your human design profile can apparently offer insights into your personality, strengths, weaknesses, and ā you guessed it ā your lifeās purpose.
Who started it?
Hereās where we turn up the woo woo, so bare with me.
Human Design was ācreatedā one sun kissed evening in Ibiza back in 1987, by a Canadian ex-advertising exec named Ra Uru Hu.
The story goes, and this is where youāre going to really need to bare with me, that he heard āthe voiceā and spent the next 8 days writing it out exactly into a 400-page book. The usual way to spend your evenings on holiday.
Ru was clearly tripping into another dimension, but, what he wrote over those 8 days not only created a new industry (of Human Design Guides, Courses, Classes, you name it), it somehow appeared to have some substance.
I know, just writing that, I realise it sounds nuts.
How do I know this? Well, I got my own design chart and put it to the test.
Your Human Design Chart
There are plenty of Human Design chart generators online, but the MyHumanDesign app is by far the simplest & easiest to understand. All I needed to do was add my birth date, time and place (side note: that led to a fun conversation with my mum about her birthing story), and my results were revealed.
The DR Verdict
Now, as you know, I went into this as a skeptic. But when I tell you that this app somehow seemed to just understand me, at my deepest level, I got pretty emotional.
Granted, it could be an absolute fluke that whatās in my chart aligns with who I feel I am. But, itās crazy that out of the 12 sections that make up my chart, they all resonated.
The overall idea of Human Design is to help you live in alignment and I can see how it could help with that. You know those moments when youāre completely engrossed in what youāre doing, everything just flows & you feel a little lighter about life? Human Design aims to help you bring more of that harmony into your life. Itās also handy for decision-making. Apparently, not everyone gets a āgut feeling,ā but some of us do (myself included, which is ironic considering Iām always eating).
The trick with Human Design is to use it as a high-level guide instead of step by step instructions to living out your purpose. Give it a try, and let me know if your chart resonates (or, alternatively, if you think Iāve fully lost my marbles).
ASK DAILY RITUALS
āShould I buy the Omnilux Contour or the Current Body LED Mask?ā
I recently did a deeeep dive into all things LED masks and I learned A LOT.
If your set on buying a mask, these two are up there in the top 3 to consider.
For an LED mask to actually work, the specs need to live up to the marketing. Both maskās have the irradiance (strength of the lights) and wavelengths that are proven to be effective, so thats a great start. They both have the same dose too (10 minutes a session).
The irradiance of the Omnilux Contour is slightly higher than the Current Body (worth noting, neither are as good as the Dennis Gross mask (35 vs 60 mW/cm2), which is more expensive, but you get what youāre paying for).
The Omnilux is slightly more expensive than the Current Body at Ā£329 vs Ā£299.
So for the extra Ā£30 and better irradiance, go for the Omnilux mask. Not the womenās mask though - Iād actually opt for the menās mask. Itās the same price but also has near infrared light (NIR) wavelengths that work a treat at targeting deep lines & wrinkles at-home. There arenāt any studies that suggest women shouldnāt be exposed to NIR wavelengths (in fact, plenty of womenās masks and panels include them), so itās kind of strange Omnilux didnāt include them in the womenās mask IMO. My guess is itās purely for marketing so they can say their menās mask āpenetrates deeperā through thicker male skin.
If youāve got a Q or want my hot take on something before you pull the trigger, just reply to this email & Iāll try feature it in next weekās Ask Daily Rituals.
Londonās Best Kept Beauty Secret: Korean Facials
Largely due to TikTok and the Ć¼berpopular #GlassSkin trend, Korean Facials have been gaining popularity this year. Surprisingly, there arenāt many places to get one in London, hereās our DL on who to trust.
THE WELLNESS WEB:
šµ Freshly mowed lawn: Forking out for laser hair removal seems to have been one of the beauty industries biggest cons. Perhaps weād be fine with it if they hadnāt all advertised it as permanent. Anyways, this TikToker is using a Ā£80 at-home device instead.
š§āāļø Frazzled to dazzled: All it takes is a night at the serene Middleton Lodge in North Yorkshire. Whether you choose a shepherdās hut or hot room room, make sure to add on spa access to up your zen time.
šŖšø Pilates & paella: The team behind Core Connexion really know how to retreat. Just take a look at this room tour from their latest retreat in Spain - heaven.
š Turn up the frequency: If youāve ever wondered how to use a high-frequency wand to zap blemishes, watch this.
š That MAC blush: it may have been around for over 10 years but this video sold out MACs dreamy Coppertone blush. Everywhere. Youāll catch me on the re-stock waitlist.
š Play dates: This central London art cafe & bar is the most wholesome Friday date night activity.
š Lemme hear the tea: Poosh isnāt stocking Kortneyās Lemme supplements anymore & weāve got questions. It could because they had $4m of their Lemme Burn stock stolen in a Grand Theft Auto style heist. Drama.
THE DR LIST
āMolly Mae raved about this on her recent Youtube as her go-to dupe for Tactcha Water cream, and sheās not wrong. The ingredient list isnāt hugely different & for just Ā£33, itās a stealā. | āI mentioned this miniās set on my stories a few weeks ago. Itās the perfect way to test some of iconic Paulaās Choice favourites if youāre acne-prone like me. Iām struggling to pick a favourite & will likely end up buying all of them in full sizes at this rateā. |
āIāve been struggling with my sleep recently, so I gave these a go after hearing Dr. Huberman rave about this type of magnesium. I take mine about an hour before bed, and so far, Iām super impressed. Theyāre definitely on the pricer side for a magnesium supplement, but theyāre proving to be worth it. Iām noticing Iām dreaming more, which is means Iām getting deeper sleepā | āThe perfect cotton jersey T to throw on over your activewear for some extra coverage in the warmer months (when they arrive..). As with all Sporty&Rich Tās, the design is simple but looks ultra-lux even over your favourite pair of black leggings & running trainers.ā |
