☆ Editors new Spring activewear picks, wellness events to book, your evening workout is messing with you

Plus the new Chanel launch & pop-up, the brand making egg-donation less taboo, your sign to get a running partner and much more.

This edition is brought to you by Carbon38.

Hey lovely,

Jasmine here, Editor of Daily Rituals and back with your Wellness Dose.

Writing this week's Wellness Dose on an absolute high (& fuelled by 90% caffeine) after our Matcha Social Club meet up on Sunday at How Matcha. I've said it before, but these events attract such high-vibe women doing really cool stuff, & seeing everyone leave having made new connections in the city is something I'm beyond proud of. So thank you again to everyone who showed up yesterday - it made my week/month/year.

As always, thank you for being here. I'm so grateful for you.

The best stories & updates that caught our eye this week →

  • 🌸 A Chance encounter: The fifth fragrance in Chanel's Chance collection just dropped - Eau Splendide. Chanel describes it as a "fruity floral" that captures "the first few days of spring." Not everyone is impressed though, with most reviews suggesting it feels a little young. Our hot take? That is sort of the point - it's designed to be the younger sister to the brands grown up No. 5 or Coco Mademoiselle. One to sniff before you splurge, and you can do exactly that at Chanel's Chance Street Pop Up this week, London girlies. No tickets needed.

  • ✨ Ingredient-forward: It's common (& good biz too) for skincare brands to focus their core range around somewhat mysterious proprietary ingredients, think Augustinus Bader and TFC8, or La Mer and their Miracle Broth. What's less common is the approach new brand Glean have taken. Championing a natural ancient East African ingredient, Quasil that's said to tackle both acne and hyperpigmentation in one. They get extra points too for their power-to-paste Magic Dust Cleanser that's perfect for upcoming hot girl summer travel plans.

  • 🍿 Who run the world: Khloe Kardashian just launched Khloud "protein" popcorn with 7g of protein per serving. For context, regular popcorn already has around 3g, so we're not convinced an extra "4g" warrants the protein branding. But - what the Kardashians are, are smart business women. With the rise of GLP1 (aka ozempic), more people are seeking high protein snacks & "treats" to reduce the known side effects of muscle loss. For a “better” use of macros on-the-go, opt for something like a David protein bar. And for something without sucralose that’s much closer to real food - go for a grass fed beef stick

  • 🙋🏽‍♀️ Space for one more: Health tech startup Superpower just secured $30mil in funding for their health & longevity tracking platform. Sound familiar? It's because it is. Just like Function Health & Hundred Health, for $499 annually, they're offering bi-annual lab tests and a central hub for your health data. Our prediction? Someone needs to launch the luxury version at $4k+ per year with more comprehensive testing, in-person physicals like Neko health scans included plus a partner programme with brands like Eight Sleep, AG1 and Bulletproof

  • 👏 Glucose check: A non-invasive glucose monitor patch brand just raised $100 million on its way to FDA approval. No stabbing or jabbing required to track your glucose levels? We're listening. Oura, if you're reading this, please (somehow) integrate this into the next ring update.

  • 👯‍♀️ Better together: Strava data from last years' London Marathon shows that running with others helps you go further. For those looking to find their running tribe, Move & Meet's "Run Faster Eat Pasta" events combine two of our favourite things. Just imagine the data if you added the pasta waiting for you at the end into the mix..

  • 🧊 The egg-sharing economy: Although egg-donation has previously been (somewhat strangely?) taboo, Cofertility's "freeze half, donate half" model is aiming to break the stigma. How? Freeze your eggs for free (usually around £6k per cycle) if you donate half your harvested eggs to someone who also wants to build a family. We've got plenty of time for brands making all things female fertility more accessible.

  • 🦷 Chew away: University of Pennsylvania researchers have developed a clinical-grade chewing gum that traps and neutralises viruses like the flu before they take hold. Sounds like the perfect companion for the underground during winter if you ask us. Let's pray for a speedy launch.

  • 🌙 Wind it down: A recent WHOOP study analysing 4 million nights of sleep data found that intense workouts within 4 hours of bedtime are messing with your sleep. The biggest takeaway? The closer to bedtime and the more intense the workout, the worse quality sleep people had. So, if you're focused on keeping your sleep in check, switch weights & HIIT for lower-impact favourites like yoga, steps or Pilates in the eve. Also worth noting - data shows most people sleep worse when they eat later too, so training late + eating dinner after = setting you up for sh*t sleep.

  • 🛍️ Tarte takeover: After becoming TikTok Shop's fastest-growing beauty brand last year, Tarte just joined Amazon's beauty lineup with products (*importantly) shipping directly from the brand - aka no third-party knock offs. Next-day delivery for your Shape Tape concealer without worrying about dupes or expired products? We'll take it.

★ April

For those of you who showed us who's boss at the London marathon this weekend, it's likely you're feeling it a little this week. For just £22, Arc is hosting a recovery class featuring sauna, stretching and cold plunge, topped off with a post-sauna salad from atis. Your legs will thank you.

★ May

Head to Sauna & Plunge to kick your weekend off with a 5km shake out, before heading back to the studio for a restorative yoga class, and of course, finishing things off with their signature Sauna & Plunge experience.

May 2nd: R&B Pilates

Join One House Social Club for their Strong Wandsworth Pilates takeover - expect immaculate vibes and plenty of 90s & 00s R&B classics. Destiny's Child while you fire your core? Yes please.

May 4th: Padel & Pilates

Padel Social Club have brought back their popular summer offering combining 60-minutes of padel into 60-minutes of Pilates. What better way to kick off your Sunday morning (and actually make use of that cute tennis skirt you bought last summer).

If you're seeking a space to go inwards and recharge with meditation, sound healing, manifestation, then head to the dreamy Seven Lion Yard. Expect to float out - the space alone is enough to leave you feeling calmer.

For something more social, head to the Broadcaster in White City for a power yoga class with Celeste Zollino, 60 minute sound bath followed by a social over acai bowls & matcha.

Stephanie is back with her 1Hotel Mayfair takeover with an intention setting sound bath. Perfect for a slow restorative evening after a busy day at the 9-5, and significantly better than doom-scrolling in bed.

It's no secret we're big fans of The Salad Project around here, and that includes their SP SWEAT events. This time, they're heading for a 5km run followed by their must-try salads. Tickets are just £5 and go on sale tomorrow - they'll go fast. For the rest of the event agenda at Fitzrovia Quarter, knock yourself out here.

May 17th: Move & Manifest

Set yourself up for summer with a grounding mat Pilates class followed with a 45 minute manifestation workshop. We’re personally manifesting a bronzy summer glow from the inside out.

Spring favourites for your active wardrobe

EDITORS TOP PICKS

Some people buy new swimsuits when summer is peaking around the corner, me personally? I'm all in on new activewear. Lighter layers, airport fits & chic "wake up, throw it on, and get your a$$ to pilates" pieces that you'll wear on repeat.

Current favourite place to shop all things athleisure? Carbon38. Arguably underrated in the UK, they do the lord's work curating the best of the brands (plus a sprinkle of their own collections, no doubt inspired by what they see trending in their data). Their drops make it easy to elevate your workout wardrobe beyond another pair of black leggings, and actually make us excited to get to the gym - or at least look the part while grabbing that post-class matcha.

Narrowing down my picks was hard going (for both my wish list and credit card..), but here goes.

“The yellow stripes are giving Kill Bill energy & I have a lot of time for that”.

“Love that this can be mixed + matched with the other pants. Heavenly duty-free outfit IMO.

“The perfect accessory for the girlies who want to add some summer colours to their off-duty looks & look v cool in the process”.

“Okay, it’s an investment, but best believe this will match basically every outfit this summer”.

“Reminds me of the iconic Dior print, and makes me want to book a retreat, immediately”.

“Granted, looks like any other crop from far away but a closer look reveals you’re in fact extremely elevated”.

“I may not be able to return a ball over the net but this would make up for it”.

“Admittedly this isn’t the matching skirt for the polo, but it’s a vibe”.
