đ Butt skincare is a thing
Plus the wellness festival to visit in London this weekend, a fool-proof bronzy glow, honest collagen talk & much more.
In this weekâs instalment of ridiculous-products-that-have-no-business-existing, I present to you âhole serumâ. Yes, you unfortunately read that right. Worse still, this launch by the aptly named brand Asset is no doubt the start of a whole new category of butt skincare. & I canât help but think, where do we draw the line?
Apparently, the serum is designed to âboost elasticity and brighten uneven skin toneâ. First question - whoâs looking down there (and also how do you even do that?) and thinking, âthis would look soooo much better if only it was a little lighter and smoother?â & secondly, who cares anyway?
Iâm all for taking pride in my appearance (although you wouldnât think so if you saw the state of me writing this), but should anyone be so lucky to see that region (myself included), I doubt theyâll be thinking, âgosh, if only sheâd heard of Assetâs hole serumâ. Iâll link it here, purely to prove that it actually exists, but this really isnât intended to be a plug (no pun intended).
Interestingly, the search traffic for âbutt skincareâ is non-existent right now according to Google. And since I canât see this being a product recommendation you casually drop into the group chat, who knows if weâll start to be marketed 5-step routines for our butt. Either way, you can count me & my peach out.
In your weekly dose:
âïž The summer fake tan olympics has started: since the UK weather is unable to make up its mind whether itâs joining us for summer, weâre taking matters into our own hands (or mitts, ideally).
đ The Wellness Web: the ÂŁ55 wellness festival coming to Wimbledon this weekend, the 24hr spa thatâs cheaper to live in than pay rent in London (see you there?), and much more.
đ€« Are you taking the right type of collagen? Yes, it matters. Hereâs the DL on whatâs best for you.

GOING FOR GOLD
The summer fake tan Olympics is here
Itâs official. The very moment the UK weather gives us a tiny glimpse of summer, the race to get our best golden glow is on.
Fighting the temptation to hit the sun beds or lay out in it isnât easy though. If you find yourself considering it, Google the price of anti-aging resurfacing laser treatments. In aid of the future, wrinklier me, I find it works a treat.
With the UK weather unable to make up itâs mind whether itâs joining us for summer anyway, itâs down to us, and our trusty fake tans, to do Godâs work. Whether youâve got sensitive skin, youâre acne-prone (same girl) or youâre the fairest of them all, these are the tried & tested fake tans youâll love this summer.
The one to look like youâve been in the Maldives for two weeks:
- Bali Body 1 Hour Express
The guide shade from this iconic Aussie brand makes you immediately regret thinking it was ever a good idea. But, if there ever was a time to trust the process, itâs with this.
Once washed, it leaves a gorgeous (& surprisingly natural-looking) olive bronze. Itâs marketed as ultra-dark, but I personally think itâs only ultra-dark before you wash it off. So unless youâre verging on being blue right now, itâll be perfect for you.
I found it applies best with a mitt (FYI, hand application was a major no-go as it dries too quick). Plus itâs 100% cruelty free & uses a natural DHA (the stuff that makes you go nice & dark), whats not to love.
The one for the girlies who react to EVERYTHING
- Eco by Sonya Cacao Mousse
Another Aussie brand (the Aussie girls just get it donât they), but this time paired back with all-natural & organic ingredients. Eco by Sonyaâs cacao-based formula has been a staple for sensitive-skinâs across the globe for over 10 years. Super lightweight, itâs pretty much free from everything that could irritate your skin (synthetic fragrances, synthetic ingredients, food colouring, parabens, you get the picture).
The one that wonât set off your bacne
- St Tropez Tan Tonic Drops
If youâve been here a minute, youâll know I struggle with my skin - I always have. These 5-in-1 St Tropez tanning drops are the best Iâve tried that havenât broke me out. With natural tanning actives and some extra breakout-friendly ingredients (hyaluronic acid and niacinamide), I get why these have so many 5* reviews online.
My favourite thing about them is having the choice of what to mix them with. Since my skin hates anything too thick or greasy, I always go for the prebiotic-packed Galliéne Body Milk.
PSA: this combo isnât going to be your saviour when youâre somewhat transparent & itâs glow up Thursday. It definitely needs 2-3 applications to get the best colour pay off.
The one that actually leaves you glowing
- Dr Dennis Gross Glow Pads
I was so skeptical about these. Exfoliating and tanning in one? Surely not.
The Dr Dennis Gross face tanning wipes are formulated with glow-giving alpha and beta hydroxy acids (AHAâs & BHAâs). So not only do they help unclog your pores, they also leave the dreamiest natural-looking bronzed hue the next morning.
Although the individually wrapped pads are somewhat excessive on the packaging front, they do come in super handy when youâre travelling. Just add your favourite tinted SPF, a bit of bronzer & youâre good to go.
DR Favourites:
THE WELLNESS WEB:
đȘ© Weekend energy: Feel-good festival Wellnergy is back in London this weekend. For just ÂŁ55, youâll get access to over 75 classes & workshops to choose from on the day, including Reformer Pilates, breath work with the incredible Jamie Clements and yoga with Third Space. Heaven.
đ§ââïž Zen up, rent down: Weâre packing up and heading to this 24 hour spa in China. All-inclusive food, bubble tea on tap & more relaxation areas than youâll be able to count, all for less than ÂŁ95. Thatâs ÂŁ2,820 per month. Bye London.
đ Escape to the country: Just a 2 hour drive out of London takes you to this dreamy vineyard. Take a tasing tour, enjoy a wood fired pizza & stock up on the best farm produce (plus, a lot of natural wine). Itâs giving boozy but balanced.
đ Battle of the rings: Oura isnât best pleased about Samsung launching a challenging health tracking ring later this year.
đ Nailed it: Follow this manicure recipe for the perfect salon finish at home.

Itâs The Elixir of Youth, But Should You Be Taking Marine or Bovine Collagen?
Our natural collagen doesnât stick forever, and as we go through our 20âs, the first tell-tale signs of ageing we all know and (donât) love start to make an appearance. This is where the world of collagen supplements steps in. But which collagen type is your ticket to a healthier, more glowy you?
THE DR HOT LIST
âI find a lot of dry shampoos make me itch, but unlike the others, this miracle powder doesnât leave any build up once youâve worked it in to your scalp. Smells fresh & clean and keeps me oil-free for around 3 days.â | âMy favourite thing about the Ultrahuman ring is that once youâve bought it, thereâs no subscription fee (like Oura) to see your health data. Plus, the Ultrahuman ring allows you to actually track more than the Oura. Granted, neither are going to be 100% accurate, but they can definitely show trends in your overall health.â |
âVB wasnât playing when she released this ultra-precision contour stick. I went for shade Marble. Thanks to itâs cool tone, I find it works best to create a snatched effect finish over a warmer, more golden bronzer like the Benefit Hoola or Nars Laguna. | âIâve been seeing this colourway of the Adidas Spezialâs all over my Instagram this week and Iâm obsessed. I rarely wear bright colours, but these are the perfect pair to add some interest to a neutral athleisure outfit.â |
With love,
Jasmine
