☆ Wellness events to book, beauty tools worth the hype, new sleep tech

Plus the athleisure we're buying for winter, a new Pilates challenge & our first Glow Guide

Hey lovely,

Jasmine here, Editor of Daily Rituals! First up, thank you to everyone who’s already shared their favourite wellness, beauty & self-care products in our GLOW survey. It funnels directly into the GLOW GUIDE☆ (a social shopping project, of sorts) which I’ll share here in the next few weeks, so you can see what everyone is loving this winter. Finally, don’t miss out on our latest dreamy wellness giveaway over on Instagram.

As always, I’m grateful to have you here! Enjoy xo

The only tools I own

It’s barely November, and yet here we are, our inbox already inundated with Black Friday promos. And while I have mixed feelings about Black Friday shopping as a former sustainable brand founder (more on that another day), there’s no denying it’s the perfect time for some wellness & beauty tech steals.

So, from skincare glow-ups to at-home steps, here are a few investments I’ve made in the past year that have firmly earned a place in my Daily Rituals.

THE ONE I OWE MY SKIN / LIFE

If you’ve been here a minute, you know my skin and I have a rocky relationship. But, for the first time in, well, maybe ever (?!) I've had people complimenting my skin, and I’m convinced my LED panel deserves most of the credit. I use it religiously, every day for at least 10 minutes.

Sure, LED masks are having their moment (I’m a fan of the Dr Dennis Gross Mask, FYI), but sadly they aren’t all created equal (more on that here). Panels, on the other hand, are the closest thing to real clinic-level power. So, after spending a long time in the depths of Reddit, I got mine from a supplier on Alibaba. It sounds a little rogue (and it is, tbh), but a lot of brands get their panels from the same suppliers - so why not go straight to the source and skip the markup? Plus, I personally don’t feel drawn to any of the brands that sell panels - they’re overly biohack-y, and not in a good way.. (exhibit A).

Going direct meant I could customise it too, so I added a blue light setting to help tackle acne-causing bacteria. If you’re curious about the supplier, just hit reply to this and I’ll email you their details.

A TIKTOK FAVE THAT ACTUALLY DELIVERS

I say actually because, like most TikTok-hyped products, I approached the Medicube Age-R Booster Pro with major scepticism. How wrong I was. This K-beauty “glass skin” device combines six different skincare treatments into one for an at-home glow facial. It’s helped to tighten my pores, and create a much smoother finish. For once, I can confidently say my glow is not simply way too much oil on my face, and that (for me) is a flex. I got mine here, so I’d keep an eye on it for a possible price drop over the next few weeks.

Unfortunately, you do need to commit to using it for around 10-15 mins a day to see results. But if you’re open to a new regular ritual, it’s absolutely worth it.

THE OG SCULPTING DEVICE

If you’ve already got the Medicube, you technically don’t need the NuFace Trinity since it has a microcurrent setting. But, if you want serious sculpting, the power of the NuFace is unmatched. It’s a little spicy to use (read: not exactly fun), but you’ll see results immediately - and with consistent use, they stick around. I haven’t had cheek filler or Botox in over a year (!!) and I put that down to this little device.

FOR HOT GIRL WALKS

My “under-desk” treadmill was a recent buy after the clocks changed (and it started getting dark at 2pm..), but it’s already a favourite. Technically, it doesn’t fit under my desk as advertised, so it loses a point there (although that’s a me problem). Since it arrived, my daily step count has gone up massively. YouTube? Steps. Medicube time? Steps. TikTok scroll? Absolutely steps. Sitting around with my phone now feels odd, and I’m 100% here for it.

BUT THERE’S NOT ENOUGH HOURS IN THE DAY

The running theme across each of these? They only work if you use them consistently. For me, habit stacking is the only way I manage to keep them in rotation:

  • Medicube > whilst reading in bed

  • Steps > whenever I feel an urge to scroll

  • NuFace > during any after-dinner Netflix

  • Red light > first thing in the morning whilst I’m meditating

It doesn’t always happen perfectly everyday, but knowing when my “moments” are means I can add them in easily without much effort.

  • ✨ Need to raise your vibe this Monday? Try listening to 528 hz frequencies for some at-your-desk healing, take a deeeep breath & remember, you only get to do today once. If that fails, this pep talk will probably help.

  • 😒 Not so fresh: We’re feeling a icky about HelloFresh after watching this.

  • 💤 We’ll pass, thanks: We’re all for handy sleep tech, but Tesla’s latest launch, the home robot, is a no from us. Apparently, it works just like a smart ring, except from one teeny tiny detail - it watches you whilst you sleep..

  • 🔒 Lock it in: Apparently, applying deodorant at night makes it work better the next day. Why? Since we sweat less overnight, it gives it time to absorb fully into your skin and get to work.

  • 🍒 Talk cherry to me: Moon Juice just launched a cherry flavoured Sleepy Magnesi-Om. As well as a new flavour combo, it now comes with an added dose of melatonin. Don’t overdo it though - according to Dr. Huberman, melatonin is okay as a one off to beat jet lag, but not for a nightly go-to. For everyday, stick with their original.

  • 😬 Botox drama: Masseter botox is popular for tackling migraines & jaw pain, but most people aren’t being told about the potential side effects. We’ll leave this here.

  • 💀 The antidote to longevity? For a daily reminder to make the most of life, some people are setting up phone timers with their estimated days left on earth. Grim? Maybe. But at least you’d have your “fun fact about me” locked down next time you’re caught out of the blue.

  • 🎁 Selfridges beauty is so good right now: Kudos to the beauty buyers at Selfridges, we’re obsessed with this Haircare Hero’s kit and their new “More Icons the Merrier” Kit. Sadly, they’re perfect for gifting.

  • 🧘 PJs + Pilates: The pilates queen herself, Bryony Deery, just launched her new winter challenge. Designed to be done mostly lying down in your PJs, it’s perfect for dark mornings when the motivation is lacking.

  • 👟 Mui Mui dupe? We’re obsessed with the New Balance x Mui Mui sneakers, but if you don’t fancy dropping £820 on a pair of trainers, these are a worthwhile dupe.
